Water Week 2025 - Join us November 6 - 14!

Thursday, November 6th:

Water Connections: A Community by Conversation Event. 5:30-8:00 pm, FLC Student Union Ballroom.

In partnership between the Four Corners Water Center, the FLC Political Engagement Project, the Southwestern Water Conservation District, and SGM Engineering. Join us for an evening of presentations and engaging dialogue about climate resilience for Four Corners communities. This event is free and open to the public with food provided! Wednesday, November 12th

Water Bodies: Love Letters to the most Abundant Substance on Earth – book signing and reading. Doors 5:30, event 6pm, FLC Noble Hall Room 130

Join us for the second event in our 2025 Water Stories series in partnership between the 4CWC, SkyWords, and the Political Engagement Project. Featuring contributing authors Christi Bode, CMarie Fuhrmann, Regina Lopez-Whiteskunk, Laura Paskus, and Santana Shorty. Event is free and open to the public.

 

Thursday, November 13th:

Water and Business Panel hosted by the Katz School of Business. 12:30-2:00pm, FLC CSWS Lyceum.

Free and open to the public, light refreshments provided. Join us to discuss how water impacts and informs our economy and local businesses in Durango and beyond!

 

Lifelong Learning Series – Nitrates in Water, Disease, and Human Health. 7-8:30 PM, FLC Noble Hall Room 130.

Professor Emeritus of Biological Chemistry at University of Nebraska, Paul Black will address the dire problem of Nitrate bound nitrogen (NO3-N) accumulation from agricultural runoff in drinking water. The scope of the problem will be addressed along with emerging remediation technologies. Free and open to the public.

 

Friday, November 14th

Tribal Water Media Fellowship Annual Showcase. 6-8 PM, FLC Student Union Ballroom

You are invited to celebrate our 2025 student fellows as they debut their independent projects in an evening of storytelling! No RSVP necessary. Light refreshments will be available.
