H2Org Student Water Organization
Be part of FLC’s student water community and get involved in local and regional water issues. H2Org is a community of students and faculty committed to engagement with local and regional water issues. Water is life and we want to be a part of sustaining resilient, clean water for all ecosystems and humans, alike. We are interested in education and projects in many facets of water issues: from the science of watersheds, to water law and policy, to the cultural and spiritual aspects of water.
We are from many backgrounds and represent many disciplines across campus. Add your voice today! As a member of H2Org, you’ll arrange guest speaker events, take field trips to water sites such as Durango’s fish hatchery and the municipal drinking water plant, and gain hands-on experience using professional tools such as USGS stream gage data, SNOTEL data, and identifying benthic macroinvertebrates. To further prepare you for a career in water, you’ll have service and volunteer, as well as internship opportunities that open your door to the regional community of water professionals.
H2Org will meet regularly during the Fall and Spring semesters. Check back for meeting times!
